Imphal, Dec 3 : The Federation of All Tribal Youths Club , Manipur ( FACTYM) has called upon Governor Gurbhachan Jagat to intervene and direct the state government to clear the salaries of ADC teachers.
R Asing, President and Letthang Haokip, Secy said the state government had appointed 1113 ADC Teachers in 2006 and salaries of 835 teachers were stopped. It was stated that the decision was a glare violation of the Constitution . The teachers filed various writ petition and the Court had also passed various orders directing the state Government to pay/release the salaries of the teachers but the state did not take up any action in this regard.
Contempt of court proceeding was also taken up against the State Government for the violation of the Courts order vide contempt case(c)No.100 of 2009(Ref: WP(c)No. 353 Of 2008)and the Respondents had also appeared in person before the Court as per direction of the Court. State government has not responded so far. The organization also submitted memorandum to Chief Minister, O Ibobi to demand fulfillment of their demands.
Meanwhile, talking to reporters, FATYCM president R Asing and its general secretary Letthang Haokip said that for the districts of Tamenglong, Senapati and Churachandpur, the first 11 months’ salaries were paid while for Sadar Hills, first 10 months salaries were given to the ADC teachers and 9 months for Ukhrul and four months for Chandel district.
“In case the salaries for the said teachers are not cleared at the earliest time, we will take the case to New Delhi and lodge complaint to the concerned Union ministry,” R Asing and Letthang Haokip said.
