Assam rifles conduct career guidance cum facilitation program

 

Moreh, 11 July 2015:  A press release from PRO cell of HQ IGAR(South) states that a lecture was conducted by 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Hill Tribal Council Conf Hall, Moreh on 11 Jul 2015. The Career Guidance cum Facilitation Programme was attended by a total of 84 students from Schools and Colleges located near the Moreh Town.  The programme was organized by 11 Assam Rifles with the assistance from Kuki Students Organisation, Moreh. This association between student organization and Assam Rifles was made to bring out the various possibilities available to the unemployed graduates of the remote border town.

It also states that the programme specifically created awareness in the youth about various employment opportunities in the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in the rank of Officer Cadre for both men and women. During the lecture, information regarding the life and work of an Armed Forces personnel and insight about accompanying facilities, pay and allowances was brought out. The graduates were initiated on personality development and various soft skills which are required in today’s competitive world. This was well received by the locals who showed enthusiasm to know the procedure to get commissioned as officers and to serve their country.

It further states  that the  24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) also  conducted an interaction with Women Society at Kwatha Village of Chandel district on 13 Jul 2015.  The programme was attended by 26 local women including few elders of Kwatha Village. The President of Women Society alongwith members of the society projected points for the welfare of the women of Kwatha Village.  The President of Women Society informed that her society is improving the environment in and around the Village by imposing fine/restriction on males who indulge in drinking & domestic violence. The President said that she has been ably supported by Assam Rifles in her drive towards a better society. The women society also commended various other projects being conducted by 24 Assam Rifles for their village.  The function culminated with interaction of women society and Assam Rifles personnel followed by tea and snacks.
