IMPHAL, Jul 22: In the aftermath of occurring conflict between two groups over the construction of a power sub-station at the premises of Yairipok Govt Aided High School, District Magistrate, Thoubal has imposed prohibitory order under 144 CrPC in the whole area of Yairipok with effect from 4.30 pm today until further orders.
Assembly of five or more persons who are likely to turn unlawful, movement of villagers carrying deadly and sharp weapons, sticks, stones, firearms and other explosive materials have been prohibited.
Meanwhile, Wangkhem MLA K Meghachandra inspected the area this afternoon. Construction works of the power sub-station resumed after police dispersed the villagers who objected setting up of the power sub-station at the school premises.
