Imphal, June 15 : The Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) has decided during its emergency meeting held today at the ZYF Head Office to refrain from participating in the United Naga Council (UNC) sponsored bandh called from June 16 midnight .
Necessary instructions in this regard have been intimated to all the ZYF zonal .
The decision to refrain from participation and involvement in the bandh was to express disagreement with the UNC arbitrary decision taken without giving ZYF to express views and opinions although ZYF is one of the frontal organizations of the UNC .The ZYF, all these while, in the larger interest of the Nagas have been fully involved in all activities relating to Naga issues without having any reservation and hesitation considering it as utmost responsibilities despite the fact that UNC failed to provide space for ZYF in the past occasions.
However, the silence maintained by the ZYF is ignored and leaving aside ZYF has become almost a regular practiced for the UNC which can be considered as intentional and deliberate act the ZYZ said.

New Delhi, June 15 : The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal has convicted S.A.Gani, the then Branch Manager & Suman Babu, the then Assistant Manager, both of Central Bank of India, Lahar(MP) and Pratibha Sharma (Private person) in two cases. In one of two cases, S.A.Gani & Suman Babu, both of Central Bank of India were sentenced to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.3,00,000/- While Pratibha Sharma was sentenced to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2,00,000/-. In another case, both the Bank officials were sentenced to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.3,00,000/-
CBI had registered a case on 27.03.2006 against Sheikh Abdul Gani, the then Branch Manager of Central Bank of India Lahar & others u/s 120-B r/w 420, 419, 467, 471 r/w 468 of IPC and Sec. 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 on the allegations that he had entered into criminal conspiracy with private persons and dishonestly & fraudulently sanctioned 5 CC limit loans to five private firms and 2 Over Draft limit loans to two private firms in utter violation of the instruction of the Regional Office and norms & procedures laid down by the bank. A loss of Rs.31.90 lakhs(approx) was caused to the bank.
Seven chargesheets were filed by CBI on 30.06.2007 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal against Sheikh Abdul Gani, the then Branch Manager of Central Bank of India Lahar & others.

Imphal, June 15 NNN: Demanding the ‘alternative arrangement’ for the Nagas in Manipur, the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has endorsed the stand of the United Naga Council (UNC) of caling bandh in Naga areas from Saturday evening for two days.
ANSAM said it fully endorses the call of the United Naga Council(UNC) for observation of 48 hours total bandh in Naga areas to protest against the lack of sincerity on the part of the Government of India(GoI) and the Government of Manipur(GoM) in taking forward the democratic process of dialogue through the tripartite talk put into place to address the demand for an alternative arrangement for the Nagas in Manipur outside the government of Manipur.
The Naga students’ body said, it has also been called to urge New Delhi for immediate intervention with an alternative arrangement to address the sharp “social divide” on communal lines, which is deeply entrenched in the present state of Manipur.
“In view of the above, all constituents units of the ANSAM are hereby directed to effectively enforce the total bandh in their respective jurisdiction as stipulated by the UNC from the midnight of 16th June, 2012 to midnight of 18th June, 2012,” the Naga students’ body said.
It then said while soliciting the cooperation of the general public, we would like to caution that willful violation of the democratic agitation will be dealt with in measures warranted by the issue which is being engaged by the total bandh.
“The democratic process of dialogue on the demand for an alternative arrangement for the Nagas in Manipur through the tripartite talk of the Government of India(GoI), the Government of Manipur(GoM) and the United Naga Council(UNC), which was initiated by the Home Minister of India is a registration and recognition of the sharp “social divide” on communal lines due to the marginalization, discrimination and domination, which has led systematic degradation and obliteration of Naga and tribal history, culture, identity and rights to land and resources,” the UNC had stated.
The last tripartite talk was held on June 30, 2011 at Senapati. Subsequently, submissions were made to the (MHA), urging for expeditious resumption of the tripartite talk. The Union Home Minister at Senapati and the Prime Minister at Raj Bhavan, Imphal had urged the UNC on November 2, 2011 and December 3, 2011 respectively to continue with the dialogue process.
