IMPHAL, Jun 25: A ‘tree plantation drive’ was organised by students of Smartstalk School of K Tuikwan village. Troops of Noney Battalion provided necessary assistance and guidance to 30 students and five school staff of Smartstalk School, who had planted 100 tree saplings in village K Tuikwan under Kangchup Post as a part of extensive plantation drive. Students and school staff participated for this noble cause with full enthusiasm. The aim of the drive was to educate the local population and students in regards of the positive effects of afforestation which lead to a clean and healthy environment, informed a statement issued by PIB, Defence, Imphal.

IMPHAL, Mar 3 : Troops of Tamei Battalion under the aegis of Senapati Brigade has seized illicit liquor worth Rs 2, 47,425 from a Tata truck (MN-01 8195) at Awangkhul check post, said a statement issued by PIB(D), Imphal. One S Ravi Singh, s/o of Lucky Singh of Konjon Taikdhan village was detained. He revealed that the liquor belonged to one Ph Ibobcha of Konjon Taikdhan village. The recovered liquor alongwith the vehicle and S Ravi Singh was handed over to Noney police station on February 23.

According to a statement issued by the Director (I/c) of SAI, NERC, Imphal, interested athletes can collect detail information and entry form from the office of SAI, NERC, Imphal; SAI SAG, Imphal; SAI STC, Imphal and SAG, Utlou during office hours. Duly filled in entry form may be submitted from Jan 18 to 20. A cash reward of Rs 50,000 will be given to the first prize (both men and women) winner while Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 will be given to the 2nd and 3rd prize winners respectively. Consolation prize of Rs 3000 each will be given to 7 runners (4th to 10th position).
