IMPHAL, April 10: A press release of Manipur Hockey, Imphal said that the members of Executive Council, Manipur Hockey held a condolence meeting on the sudden demise of Laishram Muhindro Singh (Former Hockey Coach and Ex – Secretary, Manipur Hockey today at 9 a.m. at the office premises of Manipur Hockey, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.

The members present observed two minute silence to mark respect to the departed soul and prayed to the almighty God for the departed soul to rest in the heavenly abode. The members also shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family.

IMPHAL, April 8: Slow Loris rescue from the Litan area under Ukhrul district yesterday was handed over to the Manipur Zoological Garden Iroisemba by the Dr Th Ranabir Associated Professor department of animal sciences colleges of agriculture, Central Agriculture University Imphal.

According to the press released signed by the Dr M Reeta Devi, slow loris locally known as ‘Lokdraubi” has been declared as an endangered animal under schedule 1 of wild life protection act 1972. The animal was reportedly to be very common in the hills and plain of the state, however its population has been dwindled due to the habitat destruction and hunting of its parts. The animal species is supposed to be a relict and therefore the press release appeal to preserve and to conserved the slow Loris in the interest of the humanity.

IMPHAL, April 10: Zeliangrong Baudi, Manipur has said in a press release that President/Chairman of Zeliangrong Baudi, Manipur is seeking for assistance  in cash or in kind on behalf of the victims of fire accident at Longmai (Noney) that occurred on the midnight of April 8. It also draws government’s attention to set up a Fire Service Unit within Longmai Town area at the earliest to tackle similar situations, it said.
