IMPHAL, Aug 1 (NNN): Global Liangmai Forum strongly condemns the barbaric and uncivilized act of physical assault meted out to Ringsanbou Newmai, of Chiang village, Tamenglong on July 28, said a press statement issued by its convener Angambou Kalengta.

Ringsanbou is a Bachelor of Arts (History Hons) 5th semester student of Don Bosco Maram. It said this kind of act should and must be condemned by all right thinking citizens of the land.

“There is a legal procedure to deal with every crime in this country and if somebody commits a crime, he or she must be dealt according to the law of the land. However, taking law into one’s hands or doing moral policing is definitely not the best thing to do,” the GLF stated.

“GLF, demands that the people involved in this uncultured, crude and vulgar act be apprehended at the earliest and handed over to the concerned legal authorities and booked under pertinent legal sections immediately. GLF demands justice sooner than later in this matter”, added its convener.
