IMPHAL, April 27: A Shaktiman truck  bearing registration no. MN – 06/T – 0758 met with an accident near BN HQ of 26 AR located near Pallel Thongkhong under Kakching Police Station of Thoubal District today at around 12.30 p.m. Three laborers travelling in the Shaktiman were killed in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Sorensangbam Megha Singh (44), son of Late S Manao Singh of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Namoijam Leikai, Thokchom Jugin Singh (50), son of late Th. Angou Singh of Khongjom Chingtham Thokchom Leikai and Ngangbam Sanajaoba Singh (45), son of late Ng. Rajani Singh of Samaram Maning Leikai.

S Megha Singh and Th Jugin Singh died on the spot while Ng. Sanajaoba Singh who was taken to 26 AR of BN HQ  treated died on the way to the Thoubal district hospital where he was being taken after his condition turned critical.

All the three deceased are labourers who were taken part of the work force taking part in black topping along the road from Kondong Lairembi of Moreh to Lokchao.

Meanwhile, a Tata Dipper bearing registration number MN-04-2001 hit a laborer of a brickfield inside the Haozen brickfield at Utlou under Nambol Police Station of Bishnupur District at around 2 p.m. The deceased has been identified as Thongam Rameshwar Singh (40), son of late Th Ibopishak Singh of Utlou Chanura Bazar.  He was taken to Shija Hospital and Research Institute for treatment but he died today at around 5.10 a.m.

In another incident, Ngangom Amu (22), son of Ng. Deven Singh succumbed to his injuries when a tractor and a two wheeler crashed into each other at Tentha Khongband of Thoubal District at around 10.30 p.m. The deceased was pillion riding on the two wheeler.
