In a bid to boost increase the footprint in Northeast, Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Saturday alleged that policies of UPA government have not allowed the region to prosper. “Because of lack of attention, governance, the Northeast region has fallen into the hands of divisive forces,” he said at a rally in Manipur capital Imphal.

In another attack on a person from the Northeast in Delhi, a 14-year-old Manipuri girl was allegedly raped by her landlord’s son on Friday night in Munirka.
