KAKCHING, Aug 21:The Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association (KBBWA) along with women vendors of Kakching Bazar have withdrawn their decision to boycott the Kakching Municipal Council.
A press release issued by KBBWA secretary stated that the resolution to withdraw the stance was adopted after the Council, in a joint meeting with Kakching CSOs, MLAs of Kakching and Wabagai ACs, assured to halt the construction work of 64 stall building (Kakching supermarket) and to hear the pleas and demands of the association and women vendors.
The resolution was adopted after thorough deliberation between KBBWA and the women venors of Kakching bazar, it added.

Corruption watchdog invites Nagaland Chief Minister, Ministers to speak at rally

DIMAPUR, Aug 21 : Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT), the popular corruption watchdog of the State of Nagaland has invited the Chief Minister of Nagaland and his Council of Ministers to speak at the anti-corruption rally in front of all Nagas gathered from all parts of Nagaland on August 25, and “lay down a road map for combating corruption including promise to stop the now ongoing exercise of withdrawal of funds from the Finance Department for vague/suspicious projects running into thousands of crores of rupees”.

IMPHAL, Aug 21: Forest, Natural Resources Management & Environment Development Council, Chandel has warned of seeking legal action in case the authority concerned fails to distribute seeds and materials required for growing lemon grass to farmers of Chandel district at the earliest. The council, in a press release said farmers of the district have been deprived of seeds and required materials for growing lemon grass since the last one year. Repeated appeals had been made to the concerned authority in this regard but no positive has been given till date, it lamented.

IMPHAL, Aug 21: Under Section 4 of the Plastic Waste Management Rule, 2016 notified by Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, the State Government has ordered complete ban on the use of plastic carry bags of less than 50 microns in thickness with immediate effect.
A notification in this regard was issued by Deputy Secretary (Forest & Environment), Government of Manipur.

IMPHAL, Aug 20: 29th Sub-Junior, 30th Junior and 32nd Senior State Softball Championship 2017 kicked off today at Khuman Lampak Sports complex under the aegis of the Manipur Softball Association.
The championship is being participated by three teams each in sub-junior boys category, sub-junior girls category, junior boys category, junior girls category and six teams each in senior women and senior men categories.
