Sir,
The primary and main target of installation of the State Bank of India Branch and the Post Office within the Manipur University campus appears to easily provide Bank and Postal Services to the optimum limit to the employees of the University as well as to the general customers. In the security system hitherto used to protect and safeguard these two important institutions, the common customers who are also permitted to transact here, face a great hardship. The strict security system in-force for the common entrants / customers to avail the services of the Bank and the Post Office have to pass through the gruelling entries, counter entries processes before allowing them to reach their destinations all of which are a few 100 metres away from the entrance without allowing to take in means of transport. This hurdle is exempted for the employees of the bank, post office and MU employees and the other officials whose offices are situated within the MU campus. What is more surprising is that both the bank and the post office are for public service. Many a customer, of the Bank is not official employee either of the Bank or other offices located within the MU precinct. The burden is more conspicuously laid on the general customers.
