Working towards 24×7 power supply Noting the improvement

24×7 power supply by 2019. This in a place where unscheduled power cut and load shedding had become the norm and certainly this news must have gladdened the hearts of thousands of people. Things have certainly improved after the State Electricity Department was corporatised in the early part of 2014 and two wings were created, the Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) and the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL).

Manipur is in turmoil. This is largely because of the govt. of the day. In democracy the elected govt. is mandated to work for the welfare of its people. It should be a govt. of the people, by the people, for the people. It may be a govt. of the people constituted by their elected representatives. But, it may not necessarily be a govt. for the people. For it to be so it should work in close liaison with the people learning their aspirations, desires, needs, joys, fears, desperations, sufferings and pangs. Its primary duty should be to endeavour to take the people to a higher level of a fulfilled life with security for themselves and their posterity.

India’s gift to the world

What is needed most in a world in turmoil and divided along religious lines especially like ours is today?
That would be unifying principles that go beyond religions and teach acceptance of all paths that lead to the ultimate goal of knowledge of Divine Reality, or God.
