IMPHAL, April 23: BASU will clash DM Rao in the final of the 36th senior state open Kho Kho championship being held at Sekmai.
In the semi final matches played today, BASU, Khangabok defeated UDC by 15-14 while DM Rao defeated RYC by 14-11 in another semi final.
In the womens senior semi final, PYC beat FINE by 22-12 while WDC beat DM Rao by 18-7. PYC and WDC will clash for the title in the final.
In the 25th sub-junior state open Kho-Kho championship being held at the same venue, FINE and DM Rao will clash for the title in the final as both the team defeated their rivals in the semi finals played today.
In the sub-junior girls final too, FINE will clash with DM Rao.
FINE defeated YOLO by 11-9 in the first semi final while DM Rao defeated BASU by 13-3 in the second semi final.

IMPHAL, April 30: Sadar Hills roughted VSAC in today`™s first ground match of the 13th Challenge Cup veteran football tournament being held at Mapal Kangjeibung.

Sadar Hills defeated VSAC by 9-1 in a completely one sided match.

Lanminlel opened goal account for Sadar Hills in the 4th minute. He again netted thrice in the 9th, 11th and 14th minute. The other goals for the team were scored by Ronald in the 8th minute while Letkhongam and Letsei too scored one goal each.
The not so important only goal for the VSAC was scored by Saihlam in the 32nd minute.

In the second match, VSAN had a narrow win against VSAR through a solitary goal scored by Th Sushilkumar in the 48th minute.

IMPHAL, May 6: Hockey Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai defeated YAC Yaiskul by 10-0 in the 35th mens state league hockey being held at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak.
W Chitrasen, ch Reshikanta, Ch Dayananda, W Johny and Th Roshankumar were goal scorers for HU.
HU got five penalty corner while YAC got only two in the match.
In another match of the day, COSMO Wangkhei beat rival MEIRAA by 2-0. Bronson and L Sanajaoba scored for COSMO.

IMPHAL, May 15: Defending champion Manipur has crashed out of the 19th senior women national football championship after loosing to West Bengal in the tie-break. In keenly contested semi final match played today at Bhillai, Chattisgarh, Manipur was beaten 6-7 in the tie-break by West Bengal after both the teams were locked at goalless draw during normal and extra time. In tie-break too, both the teams were locked at equal goals and the match had to be decided through sudden death in which West Bengal eventually became luckier and move into the final.

IMPHAL, June 2: Brighter Academy has reached final of the U-17 Boys Imphal East district Subroto Mukherjee football tournament. Brighter Academy will meet NEES Khabeisoi in the final to be played on June 4.

In the second semi final played today at Practice Ground of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Brighter Academy defeated Keibi High School by a solitary goal.

All important goal for Brighter Academy was scored by Pourinmai in the 46th minute.

In the U-14 boys category, NEES Khabeisoi has reached the semi final as the team defeated NEES Khewa in a quarter final match played today at the same ground. The NEES Khabeisoi won the match with 4-0 scoreline.

NEES Khabeisoi will meet Success School, Khurai in the semi final.

The other semi final lineup for the same age group have also been made and it will be between Kongpal IM and the Manipur Public School.

Both the school defeated their opponents in the quarter final matches played today.

While Kongpal IM defeated Oriental English School by 4-3 in the tie-break, Manipur Public School defeated Brighter Academy with similar margin in the tie-break.

IMPHAL, June 12: The North Imphal Sporting Association, Thangmeiband has entered final of the 15th Garodia Gold Cup football 

tournament being held at Dibrugarh, Assam.

The lone participant from Manipur in the tournament, NISA defeated Milan Sanga Samiti, Dibrugarh in the quarter final to

reach the last four stage.

In the semi final NISA will play Assam Electricity Board on June 13.

IMPHAL June 29: H Bekar emerged champion of the U-14 in the Governor’s trophy tennis championship which concluded today at the Officer’s Club premise at Lamphelpat. 

In the final of the U-14 boys played today Bekar defeated Calvin Golmei in two sets, 6-2, 6-4.

In the girls U-14 final, Jennifer defeated H Puya by 6-2, 6-4.

The prize distribution for the championship was held today in which YAS minister DD Thaisii attended as the chief guest and distributed prizes to winners and runners-up players of different age group category.

The championship was held for U-10, U-12, U-14 for both boys and girls.

In the girls U-10 final Jennifer defeated Bunty while in the boys U-12 Kelvin defeated Musha MM. In U-10 boys final, Ng Lely beat Anukul Naorem.

IMPHAL, July 9: Ace archer L Bombayla Devi of Manipur has qualified for the ensuing summer Olympic Games to be held in London, 2012.

She will be a member of the Indian Recurve Team in Archery in the London Olympic games.

A release of the Manipur Olympic Association said Bombayla qualified for the Olympic based on the performance made by her in the ongoing World Archery championship held in Turin, Italy.

Bombayla hail from Khurai Top Khongnangmakhong and she is the daughter of L Manglem.

The Manipur Olympic Association has expressed its happiness over Bombayla’s qualification for the London Olympic Games.
