Imphal, Dec 28: The CPI Manipur, Secretary Dr M Nara today released names of 19 candidates as first phase for the ensuing Assembly elections. The candidates were Ph. Parijat, 8-Lamlai, Dr. M. Nara, 34-Wangjing Tentha, N. Mangi, 29-Kumbi, M Sakhi, 18-Konthoujam, A. Lala, 4-Kshetrigao, R.K. Amusana, 3 Khurai, N. Singhajit, 20 Langthabal, Twanzalian Lianpu, 56 Thanlon, Naorem Achouba 37 Kakching, Laishram Premchandra, 1-Khundrakpam, Ph. Irabot, 19 Patsoi, Dr. Y. Radheshyam , 38 Hiyanglam, Ph. Pakchao, 17 Lamsang.
Other candidates include, O. Mahesh, 21-Naoria Pakhanglakpa, Dr. Y. Mani , 7 Andro, Heikham Dingo, 16 Sekmai, M. Jayanta, 5 Thongju, Y. Jiban, 40 Sugnu and M. Asnikumar, 28 Thanga.
Addressing a press conference today at CPI office at Irawat Bhavan Dr. M. Nara Singh said the Manipur State Council of CPI has been playing its independent role in building up the party and people’s movement in Manipur since the inception of the party by its founder Comrade Hijam Irawat
The present Socio-economic and Political situation of Manipur categorically demands to build up a broad based Secular, Democratic and Progressive Peoples’ Front for a good and pro-people governance he addied. The CPI in Manipur will work hard for achieving this goal in the larger interest of the common people of the state he assured.
Election is scheduled on January 28 next.
