IMPHAL, Nov 11 NNN: Two disabled bodies, All Tribal Disables Union, Manipur (ATDUM) and Ukhrul based Person with Disability of Ukhrul District seem to be drawn at loggerhead after the former has accused the latter of needlessly meddling in its affair.
Earlier, the Ukhrul based organization has slammed its disapproval at the activists of ATDUM for stopping a 14-member-team of Social Welfare Department (SWD) and detaining the team who were headed to Ukhrul for ‘Assessment cum Identification Camp for Person with Disabilities and Issue of Disability Certificate’ on November 8 at Mahadev.
Momo Tangtaga, president of ATDUM clarified before media persons at Manipur Press Club here today that the Ukhrul based organization is under its affiliation and as such under the guideline, rules and regulations of the parent organization, ATDUM, the Ukhrul based organization has no say without its parent’s prior permission.
He also criticized Chungmi Ragui as “self style” president of the Ukhrul based organization and further said that as such his name is not in the ATDUM lists. While, Gainson, vice-president of the Association for Person with Disability (APD) of Ukhrul should also be the acting president as the president of the association has just passed away, he charged.
