27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) organised a ‘Know your Army & Assam Rifles’ Camp at Waikhong Play Ground for the students of Waikhong Village, Thoubal on 11 January 2013 at the school premises. The camp was organised with an endeavour to acquaint the students with the multiple facets of the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles. The event included a lecture cum presentation on career options in the Armed Forces and the various options to join the Indian Army/Assam Rifles. The highlight of the camp was a weapon cum equipment display. A total of 40 students from Waikhong Village attended the event. It was indeed heartening to see the future generation take such a keen interest in issues confronting the nation.
