IMPHAL, Feb 16 NNN: Y William and Th Tarun, the co- accused in the rape case of a standard XII student of TG Higher Secondary School were produced before the Imphal West Chief Judicial Magistrate here on Saturday.
The duo allegedly assaulted sexually in a restaurant at Tiddim road near Imphal Airport on October 20, 2012.
The rape accused appeared before the court which later transferred the case to the Session Judge Court, Manipur East for trial. The trial will begin February 25 in the court.
They are now being lodged at Central Sajiwa Jail where the CJM, Imphal West remanded them till February 25.
The main accused, William aged 28, son of late Y Devan, a resident of Khagempalli Pankha Leikai, Imphal West, is a personnel of Imphal West district police and the other co-accused Thongam Tarun aged 27, son of Th Jayenta of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai in the district is said to be an actor of Manipuri digital film.
