IMPHAL, April 17 (NNN): The executive office-bearers of the Tribal Youth Council, Manipur (TYCM) and The Third Eye, a Society for Protection of Women & Children’s Right jointly visited the Observation Home run by Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur at Takyel on Tuesday to look into the well-being, health and other conditions of the 23 children rescued from Grace Home, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The two voluntary organizations distributed essential materials such as exercise books, pencils, bathing and washing soaps, towels, tooth brushes and paste each for all the 23 children, the two organizations said.

“On our visits we learned that certain facilities like recreational rooms and sports related items such as football, caroms, skipping, volleyball, daily newspapers, Magazines etc. are required for their health and well-being and for better information on daily happenings around them. The aforementioned facilities need to be made available for all inmates of the Observation Home,” TYCM president Tolkham Maring and Mayori Ruivah of The Third Eye said.

IMPHAL, April 17: The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has said in a statement that it is organized a three days youth leadership training camp cum cultural program i) in collaboration with Khongnangpokpi Area Youth Development Organization (KAYDO) from April 16 to April 18 at Khongnangpokpi village, Senapati District. The inaugural function was attended by Joychandra Konthoujam Secy. General of UCM as the Chief Guest and L Henry Kom as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking at the function as the Chief Guest, Joychandra Konthoujam said that equal development is necessary as Manipur is a state where there are multi ethnic communities. He continued that as part of its drive  UCM visited interior areas of Manipur and looked into the shortages of the areas while pointing out that  visit to the area was also part of its campaign for uniform development.

He asserted that the objective of UCM is  to nurture youths describing youths as the backbone to the nation.
