IMPHAL, June 20: Unidentified persons suspected to be KCP cadres fired 10 rounds at a house at Yairipok Kekru Mathak Leikai belonging to an employee of the PHED identified as one Longjam Deben Singh, 50 son of (L) Tomba Singh, informed a reliable source.
The source added that the incident happened around 2am today and there were no reports of any human casualty though one of the doors of the house was partially damaged.
It is also learnt that the said PHED employee had received monetary demands from the outfit some days ago.
Locals held a sit in protest today against the firing incidents in the locality.
Meanwhile, the Communist party of India (Marxist), Manipur State Committee and the Forward Bloc has jointly released a press statement condemning the police action against the CPI march. The release has further also expressed support of the 12 hour bandh called by the CPI, while demanding punishment for all involved police personnel.
