Two engineers of Bharatiya Infra Project Limited engaged in the repairing work of Makru Bridge have been abducted by some armed persons today.
The abducted engineers have been identified as Brojeshwar Mandol and Permanand Mahto.
Meanwhile, NHIDCL has informed both the Chief Secretary and the DGP about the abduction.
The bridge repairing work was halted for sometime following the abduction, informed a source.
On the other hand, Makru Bridge which remained closed since yesterday after it broke down has been re-opened to vehicular traffic today after it was repaired.

KAKCHING, Jul 26: In connection with the grave aftermath of the recent flood damaging fish farms and paddy fields, Kakching Khunou Youth Forum, Kakching district has sought attention of the State Government to provide assistance to the farmers and the victims. A press release issued by president secretary of the forum stated that more than 200 acres of paddy fields have been destroyed and several fish farms have been damaged.
It has also urged the authority concerned to improve the deteriorating condition of Uyok bridge which is built across Tarang river and serves as the most important connectivity for Indo- Burma-Sugnu road.
