Maram association to organise men’s open volleyball tourney

Imphal, Jul 18: The Maram Khullen Circle Students’ & Youth Association is organising a Men’s Open Volleyball Tournament 2017 under the theme of Joining hand for better relationship from August 11 to 14 at Raisung Ground, Maram Bazar, according to a statement from the association.
The winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs One Lakh and the runners-up Rs 50,000. Interested teams can participate in the tournament by appplying with a registration fee of Rs 5,000 and the last date for registration is August 8, said the statement.

Imphal, Jul 18: Three Manipuri gymnasts, Sneha Irengbam, Ariha Panganbam and Laishram Lanleima bagged a gold medal each in the 14th Aerobic Gymnastics National Gymnastics, which is currently underway in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Imphal, Jul 18: Three Manipuri gymnasts, Sneha Irengbam, Ariha Panganbam and Laishram Lanleima bagged a gold medal each in the 14th Aerobic Gymnastics National Gymnastics, which is currently underway in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
From 18 units, 503 gymnasts and officials are taking part in the championship.
The three gymnasts who won gold today are playing under different age categories: Sneha I in Under-11, Ariha P in the age 12 to 14 group and L Lanleima in the age 15 to 17 groups.

Barak Bridge which developed a snag yesterday morning has been repaired and stranded vehicles have started moving.
According to information received from the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), repairing of Barak Bridge finished at around 5 pm today.
Empty trucks which came from the direction of Imphal were first allowed to cross the bridge.
After all the empty trucks had crossed the bridge, loaded trucks coming from the direction of Jiribam were allowed the cross the bridge with oil tankers leading the way.

Donations to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for flood victims are still coming in.
Local cable television network ISTV, Central Agricultural University (CAU) and S Kula Women’s College donated Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively today.
These amounts were handed over to Chief Minister N Biren at a simple ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. N Biren expressed his profound gratitude to the donors for showing concern for the woes endured by the flood affected people. He also expressed hope that more organisations and people would come forward to help rehabilitate the flood victims.
