New Delhi, Aug 20: Oinam Bemdem Devi, the flag bearer of Indian women’s football over the past two decades was on August 18 named the winner of the prestigious Arjuna Award. Bembem becomes the second Indian woman footballer to win the award, the first being Shanti Mullick in 1983.

Kakching: Kakching district police, during a drive, arrested three individuals and seized 116 litres of local liquor today.
According to reliable source, Kakching district police, under the direction of SP Kakching, W Singhajeet to carry out frequent drive against illicit liquor and drug in the district as a preventive measures in connection with the coming 5th General Panchayat election 2017, a team of Hiyanglam police station, led by Hiyanglam OC, Inspector Th Damu, carried out drive at different places and arrested three individuals , each from Wabagai, Terapishak and Wabagai Lamkhai bazaar area along with 116 litres of local liquor.
The arrested individuals along with the seized items have been handed over to the Excise Department for further necessary actions.

More than 1,200 mosquito nets were sensitised at Mamang Leikai, Heirok part I, Heitupokpi Leikai and Heitupokpi Jugol waiting shed.
