Prayer service held

IMPHAL, Jun 28: 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Church prayer with civilians of Joupi and surrounding villages on June 25 at Battalion Headquarters Joupi with the aim to strengthen bond with local populace. It was attended by Commandant along with troops of 29 Assam Rifles and village chief/secretaries of 16 villages. A total of 46 civilians were in attendance. The Church programme included prayer, hymns and gospel messages by village chiefs and troops of ‘Uttam Untees,’ according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).

IMPHAL, Jun 25: Medical team of 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (South) saved the life of one snake bite victim on June 23. The victim named, Samuel (15) of Khangabok, Thoubal district was bitten by a snake while playing and was immediately rushed to the unit hospital of 2 Assam Rifles. The victim was readily attended by the medical team and necessary first aid was administered. Later the victim was referred to District Hospital, Thoubal for further management, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S).

Villagers from Chongjang and Tibongmol took part in the lecture given by the COB Commander with special emphasis on fighting corruption, dowry system, crime against women, child labour, human trafficking, smuggling and other illegal activities. All attendants were advised and motivated to avoid indulgence in such activities and further educate their relatives and acquaintances, informed a statement issued by PRO of IGAR (S).
