Our evolution throughout history has seen different stages. For me, the introduction of currencies was as significant as the invention of the wheel or the beginning of democracy. It allowed us to concentrate in a particular field and let us trade on others where we lacked. From hunters and farmers, to traders and teachers, it let us pursue and explore without hindrance. In the old days, it used to be gold or silver, or even copper coins. For the ease of use, modern Govt started using paper currencies, where the government stands as the guarantor of the value it carries to its users.

Ascending oneself via introspection and a basic understanding of body language

In today’s world, we are bombarded with various distractions that detract us from focusing on ourselves analytically, mainly due to social media, TV, or video games. While we deal with the world around us, most of us do not take time to take stock of the seemingly insignificant aspects of our lives: such as how we literally carry ourselves, expressed through our body language, or how we automatically react to certain situations without a second thought.

Demonetization: Honest versus dishonest

The country has long been running on two forms of economy — the black and the white. According to some reports, India is the third largest country which has black money stashed in foreign tax havens. The black money, earned through dubious means and on which taxes have not been paid, are routed back to the country by front organisations.

The superficiality of Christian denominationalism

The very motto of the Christians is ‘Love’ as their God Himself is Love. Out of this Love, we try to reach out to people living out our lives to its best. However, due to prejudices and biases, the Love, our very motto, bears very less a result. Resultant of which, division and hatred prevail among the Christians of various denominations. Due to divisive denominationalism, we had not reached our desired goals in the past; we cannot reach our desired goals in the present; and we will never reach our desired goals even in the future. And instead, our present and our future urgently call us to a unified venture.

Don’t say you are sad by sitting next to a beggar

Are you sad sometimes thinking you missed the most important thing of your life? What made you feel that is the most important thing? It’s because you are alive.

What’s in a name!

“My name is Khan, and I am not a terrorist!” Though I have not watched the movie, I am pretty well aware of the theme and the context to which it relates. Simply put, I may say – stereotyping a name.

Redeem your wads of 500 & 1000!

A monkey in China knew beforehand that who is going to be the next President of the United States of America. Even a fish in Chennai rightly forecast that Trump will triumph. No living being on earth including humans could predict the untimely passing away of rupees 500 and 1000 denominations. But few intelligent sceptics like Delhi Chief Minister do not believe in this theory of ‘supreme secrecy’. Anyway, the condolences of such sudden and unexpected demise are going on in every family of high and mighty throughout the country. I sincerely pay my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. More than 90% of my friends belong to the bereft houses. On the basis of my friends don’t call me a bourgeoisie; I love to be identified with the masses though I am slightly better off.

JCRE speaks

On 7th and 8th November 2016, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) held its annual Training Partners Meet at New Delhi. Since JCRE is a certified NSDC training partner which attended the meet, I would like to share some of my experiences during the meet. Skill India mission is a very ambitious mission from the Government of India. India wants to take advantage of its young “Demographic Dividend”, turn it into an asset and become the skill capital of the world by exporting skilled manpower. This seriousness has led to the formation of new ministry called Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) under the Government of India.

Career @ Gerontology/ Geriatric Care

We have been talking more about young India and youths of the country. There are some other areas which need focus and attention. There is more focus for the youths and making them human resources in the future. We talk about child rights or woman rights and at the same time it’s time to think about elders of our society. A report released by the United Nations Population Fund and HelpAge India suggests that India had 90 million elderly persons in 2011, with the number expected to grow to 173 million by 2026.

Audiometry (Pure tone and impedance audiometry)

An audiometry evaluation is a painless, non-invasive hearing test that measures a person’s ability to hear different sounds, pitches, or frequencies. Patients who have a tumour in or around the ear or those on certain medications may undergo audiometry testing to determine whether hearing loss has occurred. It is also used to evaluate whether hearing aids or surgery may improve one’s hearing.

There’s a serious problem with modern democracy, but what is the alternative?

Long before US president-elect Donald Trump was first sighted there were men who feared democracy. Among the fearful were the very men who invented America’s democracy. Wary of the intellect of regular people, the framers of America’s constitution complicated the presidential elections. As a result Americans do not directly elect the president, rather they vote for hundreds of people who in turn elect the president. In practice, the electoral college is a formality and its members have never overturned public will, but in theory they can.

The crop is grown in the certain districts located in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and to some extent in Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. In our country, total tea production is 840 million kg of annually. It is not a widely known fact, but 25 per cent of the total tea produced in West Bengal and Assam, and other north eastern states is produced by small growers. Their contribution to the total national tea production is 14 per cent.
