Lets (talk) football

The 128th edition of Durand Cup Trophy 2016, the third oldest in the world and the oldest in Asia, has just concluded at New Delhi’s Ambedkar Stadium and a team from Manipur – NEROCA FC participated for the first time, in which the participation itself has become a history in Manipur’s football. Apart from just participation and to all the Manipuri football loving fan’s delight, NEROCA FC has achieved a great feat by winning the Runner’s up trophy. Congratulation to the NEROCA FC! Hope this team and many other teams from Manipur shine in its future endeavours too.

Driverless cars – The new kids on the block

Imagine checking your e-mails or reading a novel of your favourite writer or virtual gaming all the way as you lounge, leg extended to your total comfort in front of the steering wheel with your car cruising smoothly below the speed limit on the highway without you bothering a damn about what’s happening in front of you. If you are a lactating mother and your hubby’s away for a business trip with the baby sitter not turning up for the day but you still have to go to your mother’s or to one of your best friend’s residence wouldn’t you feel completely at ease as your car steers all by itself while you breastfeed your little angel till you reach your destination. Imagine, you are more than 70, a diabetic senior citizen, feeble, fingers trembling, having osteo-arthritis, ignored by your kids but still have to go the extra miles, wouldn’t it be a boon for you if your car drives by itself till you reach your destination with you snoozing all along the way.

This is where the government departments like – Municipality departments, Town planning departments and Police departments need to work in coordination with one another. Certificates or permits should not be given to just anybody to run their business in bazaar area, it should be provided to only the ones who meet all the criteria and requirements, and there has to be specific numbers after which the issuance of permits has to stop after reaching certain numbers. Here, the police and traffic managers have to do what is needed to be done; they just can’t be mute spectators to these. If the need arise they have to use force to clear the roads of Thangal and Paona bazaar. Vegetable vendors and other street vendors cannot keep on misusing the name of ‘Street Vendors Act’ and cause traffic congestion to the already congested road.
