IMPHAL, Aug 24:As part of Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA)’s sustained agita-tion demanding reserva- tion of eight ACs of the State for indigenous people and removal of non-local voters from electoral roll, KSA Thoubal district council today organised a sit-in protest at Progressive English School, Wangjing.
The demonstrators also formed human chain and shouted slogans against non-locals contesting elections and demanding reservation of seats to indigenous people in eight ACs.
They also raised slogans urging the CM given in the State Assembly to honour his commitment for protection of indigenous people and unconditional release of student leaders who were arrested during agitation.

IMPHAL, Aug 9: Joining the agitation being spearheaded by the Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA), a large number of students today locked the gate of Imphal West DC office complex on the pretext that the district administration has failed to translate into action Chief Minister N Biren’s assurance given on the floor of the Manipur Legislative Assem-bly recently regarding pro- tection of indigenous people of the land.
A large number of students wearing school/college uniforms stormed the DC office complex and locked its gate at around 1.20 pm.
