IMPHAL, Jan 9 : Manipur taekwondo team have so far bagged 29 medals including 15 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals on the second day of the 4th North East Taekwondo Championship 2018 organised by Karimganj District Taekwondo Association (KDTA) under the aegis of Northeast East Taekwondo Union.

Korean grandmaster to conduct special taekwondo training

Imphal, Jun 29: South Korean Grandmaster Seong Kuk Jeong—who is a 7th Dan, black belt, Kukkiwon instruc-tor and referee—will be conducting a special taekwon-do training in Imphal, according to a statement from the Taekwondo Federation of Manipur (TFM).
Any interested taekwondo players can take part in the training, which will be held from July 2 to 7, added the statement. The TFM is based at Kongba Kshetri Leikai in Imphal East.

Ranchi: Manipur opens its medal account on 34th National Games with 7 Medals including 2 Gold Medals on the first day. It can be remembered that Manipur was the champion of the last National Games and it is speculated from various circles that Manipur contingent will fight its way to defend the Champion title this year as well.

Opening Ceremony: As reported by Times of India, the opening ceremony of the 34th National Games was inaugurated by M O H Farook, Governor of Jharkhand at its capital Ranchi. “It is a red letter day in history of Jharkhand,” said Farook.

The teams participated in a march past, led by the Services contingent. The contingent of Manipur, the last Games’s champions, was the second in the march past.

A total of 28 states and five union territories took part in the march past.
