Imphal, Dec 21: Honouring the spirit of Christmas, the one hour “public curfew” being observed by the Naga organisations from 12 am to 1 pm will be temporarily relaxed from December 22, upto January 2, 2012. the UNC said today.
The UNC said the observation of public curfew will be resumed from the 3rd January, 2012 to continue to register the peoples’ protest against the indifferent attitude of the Government of India on the demand for Alternative Arrangement for the Nagas in Manipur outside the Government of Manipur pending Indo-Naga final settlement. The United Naga Council acknowledges with gratitude the co-operation and support of the general public to the public protest and request for their continued participation in the days to come, the UNC added.
Meanwhile, the United Naga Council along with all the Naga frontal organizations and the tribe Councils wish one and all a very Blessed Christmas, 2011 and a prosperous Happy New Year 2012.
