Imphal, Dec 21: The CM of Manipur Shri O. Ibobi said, tribal markets will be constructed in different places of the state. The govt. is trying to construct a community hall on the building of this A block so that every community can assemble here. The newly inaugurated market should be protected by women thinking as their properties. The vendors should also pay their taxes regularly.
He was opening a new tribal market at New Lambulane, Imphal east today.
The UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the market on November 12, 2010 and the construction began since 2006.
There are 636 vendors including 34 meat vendors.
The tribal affairs department selected the reserve and general categories vendors by lot.
The CM handed over vendor license to seven women vendors today. The director of tribal affaisrs H. Dilip asked the women vendors to take their licenses from the deptt.
A. Luikham, principal secy, tribal affairs and hills, ex-minister Ngamthang Haokip, Jangamlung Panmei, chairman of Senapati, Sadar Hills, Ukhrul and other imminent persons also attended the function.
