On 22/12/2011 at about 4:30 pm, a team of CDO/Imphal East arrested l(one) UNLF cadre namely, Takhellambam Dinesh @ lyamcha Singh (33) s/o T. Lokhon Singh of Chanam Sandrok Awang Leikai from Chanam Sandrok Awang Leikai.
On verification, he disclosed that he is an active member of UNLF organization and joined under one Maipak of UNLF organization.
Further, on 23/12/2011 at about 1:40 pm, a combined team of CDO/Imphal East and 28 Assam Rifles arrested l(one) PREPAK cadre namely, Takhelambam Biken Meetei (30) @ Ibungo s/o T. Muhindro Meetei of Thambalkhong Laishram Leikai and l(one) .32 Pistol marked as Automatic Pistol made in Italy B/No. 7000 loaded with 3 (three) live rounds in the magazine was recovered from his possession. On verification, he disclosed that he joined PREPAK organization in the year 2005 through one Jems of Singjamei Chingamakha area, he was involved in extortion of money from general public, govt. officials, businessmen etc., transportation of arms and ammunition from one place to another and taking shelter for PREPAK cadres.
Discovering the movement of UG cadres in general area Tampi Chakpikarong, troops of 42 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in the area and apprehended one PLA cadre on 23 Dec 2011. The apprehendee was identified as No.1202 L Cpl Laishram Rohen alias Borlak alias Langamba, 34 yrs. 01 x Pt 38 Revolver and 02 x Pt 38 Revolver Live rounds was recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith recovery was handed over to Sinchima Police station.
