IMPHAL Feb 24: Manipur government has once again extended the date of receiving applications from private entrepreneurs for operating the semi-low floor buses till March 31 this year.

According to MAHUD officials, the department is yet to receive applications even after 2/3 advertisements in the newspapers.

JNURM guidelines specially mention that, the buses should be operated on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis. The cost of a bus is around Rs. 27 lakhs which be recovered within a period of 7 years, while the private operator will bear the operating costs and maintenance.
