Imphal, July 4 : M Oken, Minister Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution assured the House today the government will try to check adulteration of food and petroleum products in the state.

Dr I Ibohalbi of the Trinamul Congress raising a call attention motion on the issue said as petroleum products are adulterated there is frequent break down of vehicles and the menace of black marketing should be checked.
During question hour , Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh who also holds the Power portfolio informed that pre paid service has started to ensure that people get electricity well and there is no room of power theft. It will expand to most of the city areas and the areas not covered by pre paid system will have new meter system. About 2 lakh, Infra red meter will be installed so that meter can not be manipulated he said.
O Ibobi today told the state assembly today that there are plans for installation of power Prepaid Metre System and continuous supply of electricity in Uripok constituency.
The Chief Minister stated this in a reply to a question by Uripok constituency MLA N Nandakumar in the House.
Meanwhile, Ibobi also said target has been set for implementation of Medical Council in the state from this year and for this purpose the Manipur Medical Council Act, 2009 had been notified on June 28 last.
A date will be fixed to enforce this Act and that efforts are on to formulate Manipur Medical Council rules, the Chief Minster further informed the House. Ibobi said this in a reply to a question by Khurai constituency MLA Dr Ng Bijoy.
