Imphal, July 25 NNN: The Zeliangrong based militant outfit Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has said that as long as the contractors engaged in road construction and repairing works are not sincere in their efforts accidents will continue to occur.
Citing the recent Tata Sumo accident at Khongsang in Imphal-Tamenglong road that had claimed 4 lives, the ZUF said such cases are happening as the contractors withdrawing money without executing works entrusted to them.
A Remroi, publicity secretary of the Zeliangrong underground outfit cited one Ashinpou Gonmei of Gongram (Pungram) village, an NSCN-IM cadre cum “contractor” has let down the general public on several occasions. According to ZUF leader A. Remroi, the ‘contractor-NSCN-IM cadre’ in question has been constantly guarded by 6 to 7 cadres of the NSCN-IM while carrying out corrupt activities.
The ZUF alleged that Ashinpou Gonmei holds a rank of ‘Rajepeyu” in the NSCN-IM set up but engages himself on contract works.
The ZUF though did not pin-point any particular instance but asked Ashinpou Gonmei to show himself up before the outfit.
