IMPHAL, Jan 14: The Revolutionary People`s Front (RPF) has in a press release refuted the claims of Assam Riffles that insurgency in the state had led to many youths going astray and that surrender programs are being organized to bring young people into the mainstream. “Their promises are all hollow and can be seen from the fake surrender dramas that are taking place today, as reported in all the newspapers,” the statement said. Drawing attention to the Bio-data form of the MDF which was also included in the press release as an attachment, it said that the mention of a ” Coy Cdr, 42 Assam Riffles` was proof enough of the complicity of AR in shady dealings. It has further inquired over what the CM and the Home Minister who had earlier announced that action would be taken against those involved in fake surrender programs are going to do about the situation and has questioned their silence.
