IMPHAL, Jan 28: In a press release, the Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) has conveyed its heartiest greeting to all communities in the state and particularly the Zeliangrong people on the occasion of `Chakan Gaan Ngai`, the greatest living festival of the Zeliangrong people of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland, which begins on January 25.
Saying that it is the festival (Ngai) of Gaan (Dry or Winter Season), also known as the Chakan Gaan-Ngai, the release added that it is characterized by making of traditional sacred fire, Ho-hoing (invocation), worship, offering, rituals mingled with traditional song, dance, games, feasting and entertainment.
