IMPHAL, April 26 NNN : AMUCO said Friday it has decided to help the people whose shops had been completely destroyed in a major fire in Tamenglong district’s Noney/ Longmai town that took place in the middle of the night on April 8.
All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) will minister to all the victims of None Longmai town whose shops had been burned in a huge fire on April 8 midnight, AMUCO president KT Rahman told newsmen at the organisation’s office here.
Around 50 shops were blazed in the inferno.
He acknowledged the peaceful co-existence of the people of the hill and the valley since time immemorial and said AMUCO in collaboration with relief committee which is set up from time to time has been assisting to the victims of natural disasters and mishaps like fire in the state.
A relief committee on ‘Longmai bazaar, None fire victims National Highway-37’ with Rahman as its convenor has been formed by AMUCO.
Rahman said this committee will ask for donation from the people and rice, dal, oil, salt and cloths will be collected from generous individuals and these will be given to the Longmai bazaar fire victims.
Rahman further appealed to all to make kind contribution to the committee to enable it to help the fire victims.
