IMPHAL, May 8: The officer in charge of Moreh Commando Post, namely Sub-Inspector RK Binorjit has been arrested for his role with regard to the trafficking of banned narcotic substances.
He was arrested following the revelation from the 11 arrested police personnel who gave their statements to the magistrate of Thoubal district and implicated Binorjit as the officer who ordered the transportation of drugs.
It may be mentioned that the police personnel were caught with a huge consignment of banned tablets containing pseudo-ephedrine at Pallel Police Station new building gate on April 28. The arrested personnel were produced in front of the CJM Thoubal and for the second time at the NDPS court, Lamphel on May 5.
Sub Inspector RK Binorjit hailing from Yaiskul Police Lane, Imphal West and presently Moreh commando officer-in-charge was arrested by a Thoubal police team led by Y Chandramani, DSP/ Ops today at around 2 pm today. Binorjit will be produced before the CJM , Thoubal tomorrow.
