IMPHAL, November 16: The Zeliangrong United Clubs’ Association Manipur Valley (ZUCAMV) strongly condemned the killing of Wahengbam Ton of Leirenhanjabam Leikai, Thangmeiband at Ragailong Kabui Khul on November 13, 2013 and deeply shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family said a ZUCAMV press release.

The ZUCAMV has further appealed the village authority of Ragailong to extend help to nab the actual culprits involved in the unprecedented incident, it said adding that the state govt should look into the matter seriously and try to solve the matter at the earliest possible time so that peace can be maintained in the state.

Further, ZUCAMV appealed to the general public to maintain peace and communal harmony and not to flare up any kind of rumour.

In a separate press release, the Kabui Mothers’ Association, Kakhulong has also condemned the killing during the tragic night of November 13 at Ragailong Kabui Khul and expressed its sorrow.

KAMA further demanded punishment of the culprits involved in the killing of Ton; and further appealed to allow peace to prevail in the state.

Meanwhile, the Zeliangrong Baudi, Manipur and the Zeliangrong Baudi, Imphal Zone has in a separate press release jointly condemned the unfortunate incident which led to the death of Wahengbam Thembung alias Boinao, son of Priyachandra Singh and Ambika Devi of Leirenhanjaba Leikai, Thangmeiband, Imphal West.

IMPHAL, November 13: On Nov 15, 2013 at 1:40 pm, a combined team of CDO/IE and 40 AR arrested one active member of UPPK (United People Party of Kangleipak) and the UG has been named as Ningombam Thoithoi Meitei alias Thoi, 36, son of N Thambal Meitei of Bashikhong Bazar, near MEIRA Club from Kongba Kshetri Leikai near Dobi Lampak.

On verification, he stated that he joined UPPK through one self styled finance secretary, Birjit of UPPK in the year 2011 and presently working under his command, it said adding that he had extorted a huge amount of money from the general public, private firms, govt. offices etc under the advice of Birjit,.

Further, on same day at 4:35 pm, a team of CDO/IE under the supervision of M Rajen Singh, Add. SP (Ops) Imphal East conducted a search operation at New Checkon in front of SBI ATM booth and arrested one KRA (U) cadre and he has been named as Hemminlun Lhungdim, 24, son of Tongkhomang Lhungdim of L Semon village, CCpur and recovered five numbers of demand letters of KRA (U) and one mobile phone along with one Airtel SIM from his possession, it said.

After further interrogation, he disclosed that he is a former self styled private of KNF (S) and also an active member of KRA (U) and he joined the said organization through one self styled chief finance Michael in the month of October, 2013, adding that with the advice of the said Michael, he had extorted a huge amount of money from several individual, firms etc., it said.

IMPHAL, Nov 16: Discovering the movement of UG cadres in Kairang, troops of 30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation and apprehended one UNLF cadre on Nov 15, 2013, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
It has further identified the apprehendee as self styled sgt maj (No 0865), Ng Ashempa Pingamba alias Chitrakumar Singh, 31, son of Ng Irabot Singh of Sagolband Terasapam Leikai.
One 9 mm pistol with five live rounds, 300 gms plastic explosive, one detonator, one electric circuit and two mobile phones were recovered from the apprehendee, and he was along with recovered items handed over to Heingang Police Station.
