IMPHAL, March 6: Today at around eleven in the morning a bomb exploded at the residence of Sarungbam Biren, at his Nambol Bazar residence. It has been reported that some unidentified miscreants hurled hand grenade at his residence. The bomb exploded in his residential compound. There was partial damage in the window glasses of the house.

No human casualty is reported. Sarungbam Biren is presently the director of the National Institute of Technology, Imphal.
