IMPHAL, May 13: The Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, during the flag hoisting ceremony of INC candidate L Johny Gangmei, 14 Tintong Laijang ADC constituency at the premises of candidate`™s at Khonglong Kabui Village called for Congress workers to strengthen INC party. He also said the BPJ is a communal party and urged all to shun it.

Gaikhangam who also holds the Home portfolio asked the people to make the election free of violence.

He mentioned that the people eligible to caste their valuable vote should be aware and be thoughtful not to support any non working or non functional candidates who only speaks loud and does nothing for the public.

Congress is the power house and ruling party of the State said Gaikhangam and added that if ADC elected candidates from INC goes hand in hand, then development and progress will be the result.

The religious intolerant BJP is anti-Christian said MPCC president and continued that even though centre Government is BJP, the state Government is the one which has the power to implement policy plans in the State.

He expressed that the national capital, Delhi, is also ruled by AAP though the Central government in Delhi is BJP, demonstrating that the States are autonomous of the Centre.

In the State also the BJP is playing all the dirty tricks to woo the public for the election said Gaikhangam and further charged that the leader of State BJP is collecting money from the interested contractors on the false promises of work orders for the construction of Sports University in the State.

He said that he was informed that the state BJP leaders have collected around Rs. 3 crores from about 30 contractors already.

He called for unity among the different communities of the State and to ensure peace, love and harmony in the State as a whole.

Minister IFCD, Printing & Stationery Ngamthang Haokip who was chief guest urged the Home Minister to inaugurate Keithelmanbi Police Station at the earliest. He warned the public not to be lured by BJP`™s false propaganda and said that the Congress is one party which understands the sentiments of all communities.
