IMPHAL, May 13: The Kuki National Liberation Front has alleged that cadres of the designated camp located at Semon Village has been forcibly relocated by the Dogra Regiment.Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF), which is under the umbrella of Kuki National Organization (KNO) , is located at Semon which comes under Khengjoi sub-division of Chandel district.

It may be mentioned that some cadres of the camp on May 9 had beaten up five labourers and six villagers at Sehao Village while they who were involved in a PMGSY work. Due to the harrasment of the cadres, apprehensive villagers of Sehao had abandoned the village and sought refuge at the TD Block office located at Khangbarol and were guarded by 6th Dogra Regiment.

To take stock of the situation, a media team went to the spot and investigated the matter. In between Tengnoupal to New Somtal, there is a village called Moltuk where the post of the Dogra regiment is located. The media team was detained for at least an hour and inquired on the purpose of visit. The journalists stated that they were coming to cover the incident. However, the media team was told that the villagers, the KNLF cadres along with the police were coming to the camp and the media could meet them there. As they did not arrive, the media was asked to proceed after a wait of one hour. Later, the team reached Kemdo and another team of Dogra camp also stopped them there. The same response of the cadres and police, villagers arriving was told to them.

Later, the cadres of the Semon camp arrived in two shaktimans along with villagers, the arms of the group were put in metal boxes, they were escorted by Chandel SDPO; Modhuchandra Th, OC of Molcham;Inspector TL Kuki. The police officers refrained from making comments to the media as they were not authorized to do so.

One woman villager accompanying the cadres told the media that the KNLF incident occurred due to 2 rogue cadres, it was done when the commander was absent. The outfit had also accepted the fault and tendered an apology to the injured also. Then, the Dogra personnel came and herded the cadres together.

Later, the cadres were taken to Tengnoupal 24 AR batallion headquarter from where they were transported to Chelep designated camp. The camp is occupied KNA, Pakan Revolutionary Army and UMLA. The cadres of the three outfits insisted that the KNLF cannot be put in the camp and threatened violence. Due to the standoff, they were kept at Tengnoupal AR post.

KNLF General Secretary Lalboi Haokip said that the incident which occurred in May 9 was unfortunate and the two erring cadres have been handed over to Dogra Regiment. He said that the order for relocating the cadres were not intimated priorly and carried out at the whims of the Dogra Regiment. The camp was built by the cadres themselves without any assistance from state or central authorities, there was no official intimation to the KNO about relocating the cadres also.

Regarding the incident, leaders of the KNO and KNLF met the Chief Minister today and lodged a complaint that the Dogra Regiment had forcefully taken the cadres and their weapons from the designated camp.

IMPHAL, May 13: The Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, during the flag hoisting ceremony of INC candidate L Johny Gangmei, 14 Tintong Laijang ADC constituency at the premises of candidate`™s at Khonglong Kabui Village called for Congress workers to strengthen INC party. He also said the BPJ is a communal party and urged all to shun it.

Gaikhangam who also holds the Home portfolio asked the people to make the election free of violence.

He mentioned that the people eligible to caste their valuable vote should be aware and be thoughtful not to support any non working or non functional candidates who only speaks loud and does nothing for the public.

Congress is the power house and ruling party of the State said Gaikhangam and added that if ADC elected candidates from INC goes hand in hand, then development and progress will be the result.

The religious intolerant BJP is anti-Christian said MPCC president and continued that even though centre Government is BJP, the state Government is the one which has the power to implement policy plans in the State.

He expressed that the national capital, Delhi, is also ruled by AAP though the Central government in Delhi is BJP, demonstrating that the States are autonomous of the Centre.

In the State also the BJP is playing all the dirty tricks to woo the public for the election said Gaikhangam and further charged that the leader of State BJP is collecting money from the interested contractors on the false promises of work orders for the construction of Sports University in the State.

He said that he was informed that the state BJP leaders have collected around Rs. 3 crores from about 30 contractors already.

He called for unity among the different communities of the State and to ensure peace, love and harmony in the State as a whole.

Minister IFCD, Printing & Stationery Ngamthang Haokip who was chief guest urged the Home Minister to inaugurate Keithelmanbi Police Station at the earliest. He warned the public not to be lured by BJP`™s false propaganda and said that the Congress is one party which understands the sentiments of all communities.

KANGPOKPI, May 13: The Kuki Inpi Manipur has vehemently condemned the killing of two youths by Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) and termed it as `total disregard of human rights and the law and at the same time regretful`.

A press statement signed by Khaimang Chongloi, General Secretary KIM stated that it is regretful that such incident which incites communal tension occurred frequently nowadays and it is a crime committed by the UG group to take lives of the two youths, whatever reasons they may have.

Appealing all communities not to communalize the incident, the statement said that it is in everybody`™s interest that the people are not swayed by any communal feelings.

The act of certain UG groups should not be construed or mistaken as an act of certain community. The need of the hour is to maintain self restraint and control. It is the duty of both the communities to have mutual respect and understanding, it said.

Police have arrested the KRF cadres and investigation is underway to unearth the truth behind the crime and the law will take its course and the culprits will be punished accordingly, it added.

The statement also expressed sincere condolences to the bereaved families of the youths.

Imphal, May 13: If BJP candidates win ADC election in Chandel, Gujarat Model of development will be applied in Wangkera segment, assured Oinam Malesh, President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Manipur Pradesh.

Addressing a flag hoisting function of 20-Wangkhera ADC segment under Chandel Assembly Constituency today, he further said that the public has witnessed the working manner of the present ADC member and what he did for the people of the Wangkhera ADC segment during his tenure. Wangkhera is facing scarcity of drinking water, no proper road connectivity and a huge gap in health facilities and education sector in the area.

The ADC members in state are under the congress government whom are experts in draining every developmental fund from central government in the last five years. People must acknowledge that the Congress government is just like a withered tree about to fall.

If people of the area support the BJP candidate and elect him as an ADC member, he will introduce the Gujarat development model to the area for socio-economic development in the area.

Candidate of 20-Wangkhera segment, TS Smile Anal said that they have 6 polling stations, 20 villages and 2850 voters altogether in his ADC segment of Chandel. But still people of Wangkhera are facing problems in survival. Every developmental works are done for the benefits of the ADC member and not in public interest.

Smile decided to contest the ADC election in regard of the public grievances stating that the Congress government knows only corruption but BJP focuses on development.

K Robindro, Executive member of BJYM who was guest of Honour said that he is the youngest politician to join the BJP fold. He said that now people have two options, one for a leader working for his own profit and another who works for the people.

During the last 13 years, the present congress government has misused public money and enjoy a luxurious private life. But everyone should know about where this money is coming from. The tax collected from public when we buy essential things for daily use, tax gathered and estimated for public development, for education, health, electricity, drinking water etc. but all the collected money has been utilized mainly for personal gains due to the corrupt nature of the congress government, he said.

Y Gopi ,Vice-President BJYM said that Congress party was decimated in India after the last Lok Sabha polls in 2014. But unfortunately, the Manipur government is still ruled by the Congress now and it is like a sinking ship waiting for help and full of passengers.

He mentioned that the BJP is another new ship riding fast toward the sinking ship to save the passengers only, however, the congress crew is trying to jump into BJP before the passengers. He said that this is the present situation of Manipur politics but BJP never expected them of seeking entry. The BJP seeks to save only the people who are aboard the drowning Congress boat and not the Congress politicians .So, the public should choose the ship is aimed at development and for the interest of the public themselves.

On other hand, another flag hosting for BJP candidate was held for TC Mephun Charanga of 4-Kangoi ADC segment. The function was held at his residence at Maringphai village under Tenoupal Assembly Constituency of Chandel District.

TC Mephun Charanga said that people are facing water scarcity even though the village is located near Imphal River and have full resources of water supply. The main problem is failure of water policy planning by the Congress government. We use a tube well and is functioning everyday to provide water for the people of Kangoi Segment at Molloi area, he said.

Despite the large population of a hundred clans, still no school and health centre in functioning in the area. A junior school is still not upgraded to high school status among other conditions hampering our area and the last five years MDC funds fails to reach to our area, he said.

He assured that, if the public votes for the BJP, he as a candidate will try to correct the malpractice of funds for development.

While Chief Guest of the function Jaydav, Vice President of BJP Manipur Pradesh and in-charge of ADC Chandel said that the road conditions of Chandel is in a deplorable state specially the village roads ,this is a clear sign of congress government failure. If BJP candidates are elected as representatives in ADC polls, it will be the first step to change the development scenario in the State.
