IMPHAL, May 26: BJP national executive member Tapir Gao has demanded Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and his deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam to provide an explanation, their role and stand

IMPHAL, May 26: BJP national executive member Tapir Gao has demanded Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and his deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam to provide an explanation, their role and stand on the boundary dispute in Dzuko Valley.

Addressing an observation of the BJP`™s completing one year at the Centre, Tapir Gao said the Centre has a role to play in resolving inter-State boundary resolves.

But, he questioned, why has the State government of Manipur remained silent on the Dzuko Valley land encroachment issue for so many years.

He said it is a big surprise that even though the Nagaland government has constructed a 15-km road and a tourist lodge in Manipur territory, the State government continues to remain silent.

The BJP national executive member said Gaikhangam who is the State Home minister is also a Naga leader, and further demanded that he must clarify on his stand on the issue before the people of Manipur.

Tapir questioned Gaikhangam, what his role is in the construction of the road and tourists lodge by the Nagaland government at Dzuko Valley.

He also questioned whether the Senapati district administration and concern SDO still exist.

He continued there are reports of UG groups who are signatories of the Suspension of Operation or the Cease-fire agreement are involved in threatening ADC candidates of political parties except for NPF.

He said NSCN (IM) collective leaders sitting at the outfit`™s headquarter at Hebron have clarified that they have not given any directive to their cadres on the issue.

They have also informed that the outfit is under cease-fire with the government of India and have always maintained the ground rules, he said.

He further appealed to all the Kuki and Naga UG groups not to interfere in the conduct of the ADC election.

There are also reports of SoO signatory KNF (N) cadres moving openly with weapons at Saikul area and why have the State government remained silent on this issue, he further questioned.

BJP Manipur Pradesh president Chaoba has said that the UPA government in the Centre during the last 10 years had brought down the name of the country before the world, which has been restored by the Modi government in just one year.

He said in June, the Prime Minister will launch the first Atal Pension Yojana which will provide Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 to persons who are above the age of 60 years.

The Prime Minister has put focus on NE among his top priority, he said.

However, the Manipur government is neglecting the schemes of the Central government and it is clear that the State government does not want development in the State, he claimed.

In the function State BJP leaders and party workers were also present.
