Torch rally

IMPHAL, Feb 28: Demanding disclosure of the details of the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM on August 3, 2015, a torch rally was taken out at Lamsang this evening. The rally which started from Lamsang Bazar went up to Iroishemba. Participants of the rally shouted slogans like, “Disclose Framework Agreement details”, “Manipur’s territorial integrity should not be disturbed”, “Don’t politicise Framework Agreement” etc.

IMPHAL, Feb 28: The premiere show for ‘Tal Taret’, a production of the one month Children Theatre Workshop under the aegis of Children Cultural Centre, Manipur was held yesterday at MDU hall, Yaiskul police line along with the inauguration of the two days festival of ‘Anganggi Kummei’. Director of Art& Culture, Dr K Sushila, Playwright and Theatre critic Budha Chingtham and Dr Yumnam Sadananda (Director, Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory Imphal) took part in the event as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively. Speaking at the event, Workshop Director Lamabam Gojendra pointed out that Children Cultural Centre Manipur has been organising plays, symposium and seminars for children with the aim of cultivating their talents.
“A total of 20 children, eight of whom are boys, are participating in the workshop which began from January 27”, he added.

Womens’ group rebuffs allegations

IMPHAL, Feb 28: Apunba Mayai Kaba Chinjak Thingba Lup, Keinou Thongkha Makha Leikai has clarified that the allegations raised by MLA Dr I Ibohalbi, INC candidate in Oinam AC for the ensuing Assembly election and his supporters against the organisation in local media is baseless and concocted. Addressing a press meet held at Keinou Thongkha yesterday, president of the anti-drugs organisation, Ahongsangbam Shanti said that a feast in connection with the coming election was organised at the residence of one Ngangom Lukhoi (50) wherein quarrels amongst some people occurred. She said that members of the organisation went to the residence to ask the people to not create unwanted scenes but they were attacked by Lukhoi and his wife.
