Kongba Students’ Club praise three-gold winner N Wilson

Imphal, Jul 1: The Kongba Students’ Club (KSC) has congratulated N Wilson who bagged three gold medals in the 44th Glenmark Junior National Aquatic Championships 2017 that was concluded in Pune yesterday.
In the championship, N Wilson—son of N Bhorot and N Anita—from Kongba Nandei-bam Leikai had won the medals in 1m springboard (by scoring 276.55 points), high board (291 points) and 3m springboard (326 points).
N Wilson is currently undergoing training at the Army Sports Institute in Pune.
The KSC also express its wishes to N Wilson’s mentor, M Kunjakishor who belong to Taothong Khunou. It said Kunjakishor had played a crucial role in making Wilson a champion.

Imphal, Jul 1: The All Manipur Football Association has selected ten players and three substitutes for the Senior Women’s Preparatory Camp in the run-up to the international matches against Malaysia that are scheduled between July 16 and 26 in New Delhi, according to a statement from the AMFA.
Selected players: Goalkeepers – E Panthoi Chanu, O Roshni; defenders – Th Umapati, G Radharani, Ng Sweety, mid-fielders – I Prameshwori, E Bindyarani, strikers – N Ratanbala, Ng Bala and Dangmei Grace
Substitutes: W Linthoi-ngambi, M Mandakini and Kashmina.

DSA Bishnupur debar YSWA, TRUGPU

Imphal, Jul 1: The District Sports Association Bishnupur has imposed a ban on two clubs: YSWA Utlou and TRUGPU Nambol—for non-compliance and absence from participation in tournament—after a meeting of the executive council of the association, said a statement.
The All Manipur Football Association had penalised YSWA Utlou with an amount of Rs 30,000 for failing to field a home match in November 2016 but the latter did not pay heed to the fine, added the statement and said that the YSWA will also not be allowed to participate in the 1st L Itomcha Memorial Super Division Football League 2017.
Meanwhile, the TRUGPU Nambol had failed to turn up for participation in the L Itomcha Football League and the club has been debarred from participating in District Football League of DSA Bishnupur.
With the ouster of TRUGPU, DSA Bishnupur has decided to allow the participation of GMC Phubala to fill up the number of teams for the league to meet the provisions of the Conduct Rules, the statement concluded.
