Solidarity rally on ILPS held

Committee on Human Rights, Manipur (COHR) today hold a protest rally at Kwakeithel, Imphal as a part of solidarity and fight back conference of International League of People’s Struggle (ILPS) and International Women Alliance, Toronto, Canada.

Civil bodies of the state including AMUCO, AMAWOVA, AMESCO, POIREI, Leimarol Apunba Maira Paibee Manipur and MAPWAK also took part in the protest rally.

Speaking to media persons COHR, chairman, Phulindro Konsam said that the main objective of ILPS is to promote, support and develop anti-imperialist and democratic struggles of the people around the world.

The league aims to stimulate and coordinate common lines of action and undertake action like advocacy, research, publications, conferences, seminars and social and political mobilization, he added.

Phulindro continued that on the other hand the central force as well as the state force have killed many innocent person in fake encounter taking the chances of implementation of black laws “AFSPA, 1958” in the state.

So in order to earn back the rights of the people of the state, the people need to work together as one to remove such Act, added the chairman.
