Kidnapper sent to five days remand

Moirangthem Lukhoi, who was arrested for trying to kidnap a 7 year old girl on August 19, was given five days police remand on August 20 at the court of CJM, Thoubal in order to carry out further investigations.

The police are still continuing with their investigative work after registering a kidnapping  charge against Lukhoi (22), son of Ibomcha from Umang Laikon, Heirok part I. Meanwhile, a public meeting was held at Heirok Bazaar regarding the kidnapping incident. Several resolutions were made in the meeting. It was resolved that a JAC of nine members will be formed to bring justice to the case of kidnapping. As the incident was reportedly related with drugs, it was also resolved that a meeting will be held on August 29 with NGOs, clubs, Meira paibis and law enforcement agencies to completely ban drugs and alcohol abuse in Heirok. This resolution was made to prevent further happening of unwanted incidents to the students of the school in future.

Lastly, it was resolved that a reward will be given to Moiranthem Tomba, son of Thambal from Hierok part II, who saved the child from the hands of the kidnapper.
