The winners of the FIAMA NorthEast DIVA 2016-17 called on chief minister N. Biren Singh at his office chamber. The winner of the beauty pageant Peden Ongmu Namgyal, (21) of Sikkim, 1st runner-up Loukrakpam Angobi Chanu, (18) of Manipur and 2nd runner-up Poonam Das, (18) of Assam sought the blessings of the CM in their future endeavours.
Extending his best wishes to the winners of the beauty pageant, N. Biren expressed that such platform not only showcases individual personality but also empower women to overcome stereotypes and break barriers. Such platform would also help them to become self-reliant to achieve greater heights, he added.
Mention may be made that Fiama Northeast Diva 2016-17 held its audition and selected girls from across the States of Northeast India. The grand finale of the event was held on 20 August, at Guwahati.
