Dr. S. Keshorjit Singh, Faculty Member, MIMS, M.U, while delivering his speech as resource person pointed out that disturbing state of law and orders, attitude of state and non state players towards businessmen, bad debts from customers, government policy, loss of market share, logistics and transportation bottlenecks are some of the challenges faced by Start-up Entrepreneurs in Manipur. Every entrepreneur needs to experience failures many times to climb the ladder of success, he said.

Today entrepreneurs are occupying the central role in all economic activities and development of a region or of a country.  This is because of entrepreneurial energy, creativity and motivation that trigger the production and sale of new products and services. Entrepreneurship has assumed super importance for accelerating economic growth both in developed and developing countries. It promotes capital formation and creates wealth in the country. It reduces unemployment and poverty and it’s a pathway to prosperity. So, it is hope and dreams of millions of individuals around the world to be entrepreneur, he said.

Starting a business and becoming an entrepreneur is both exciting and challenging.  Exciting because he will become a boss, achieve financial independence, enjoy creative freedom, use his skills and knowledge and so on, he observed.

Roshnikumar Yambem, Managing Director Globizs Web Solutions Pvt Ltd said that every entrepreneur should learn ‘failed fast, succeed fast’. A business cannot succeed without experiencing failures in the initial stage. Success comes only after the failures are coped up with. Budding entrepreneur, before launching their product, should have a clear cut long vision, good business plan and the scope of customers who would use the product. Without customers, every business flops, he added.

Stating that entrepreneurs should study the problems, customer target etc. before initiating a business, he said that the lean startup event will be instrumental in reducing risk factors involved in starting a business venture.
