Ex–Minister Dr M Nara, state secretary, CPI, Manipur, Ex- Minister N Mangi Singh, Kh Jugeshor Singh, Ex MLA Ph Pakchao Singh, H Kwaklei attended the conference as presidium members. The conference passed resolutions  which include condemnation of the killing of Seityabhama and crime against women, drive to make Dr Nara successful in the Lok Sabha election in 2014 etc.

IMPHAL, April 8: Slow Loris rescue from the Litan area under Ukhrul district yesterday was handed over to the Manipur Zoological Garden Iroisemba by the Dr Th Ranabir Associated Professor department of animal sciences colleges of agriculture, Central Agriculture University Imphal.

According to the press released signed by the Dr M Reeta Devi, slow loris locally known as ‘Lokdraubi” has been declared as an endangered animal under schedule 1 of wild life protection act 1972. The animal was reportedly to be very common in the hills and plain of the state, however its population has been dwindled due to the habitat destruction and hunting of its parts. The animal species is supposed to be a relict and therefore the press release appeal to preserve and to conserved the slow Loris in the interest of the humanity.

IMPHAL, April 9: Patriotic Writers’ Forum (PAWF), Manipur has said in a press release that a historical novel titled Maharani Indupraba” written by Kabrabam Nilakanta will be released under the aegis of patriotic writers’ forum, Manipur on April 13 at around 1.30 p.m. at the auditorium of Manipur press club. The release added that a book of short stories titled “Nongmeigi Laman” by Kesho Luwang will be discussed and Kesho Singh Irengbam and Critic Salam Tomba will made speeches  on the two books. Prof Elangbam Dinamani, President of Manipur Sahitya Parishad Imphal and Prof. Jodha C Sanasam, President of the forum will grace the function as the chief guest and the president respectively. The release appealed to the print and electronic media to attend the function.

It further continued that “Eramdam Sheitha Eshei” will not be held this year in view of the prevailing circumstances  in Manipur.
