Poacher held with Hog Deer meet

IMPHAL, Nov 25: Amidst constant efforts to promote and protect Sangai and other wild animals, a poacher was held for killing a Hog Deer in Keibul Lamjao National Park (Khordak side), — the last bastion of endangered Sangai, yesterday along with the meat of the Hog Deer, an animal enlisted under the Schedule I of Wildlife (Protection) Act.

In yet another incident of road mishap, a 28 year old youth was killed and another (the deceased’s younger brother) was left seriously injured, when the vehicle they were travelling in, fell down into a gorge at Awangkhul, under Noney police station, along Imphal-Jiribam highway, at around 9.30 am today.
